Crowns and Bridges

For dental patients who aren’t viable candidates for dental implants but would still prefer a more stable, durable tooth replacement method than dentures and partials, dental bridges are considered a great compromise! The service consists of a single tooth or a row of replacement teeth that are attached to a gum-colored base. They require the patient to have two or more adjacent teeth to hold them in place; crowns will be used to cement it, resulting in a sturdy fit that feels life-like. We’ll always take the time to ensure that your new bridge fits your unique features and gives you a renewed sense of self-confidence. At Bloomfield Dental Center, your satisfaction is always a top priority!

  • Patient presented to our office, Bloomfield Dental Center, with the Lower Front 6 teeth (Lower 6 Anterior Incisors) very short as a result of severe teeth attrition. After examining the teeth Clinically, Radiographic X-Rays & Intra-Oral Photographs, had a consultation with the patient explaining in detail the teeth condition & different options of treatment.
  • The treatment of choice for this case was Full Coverage; Crowns. Patient agreed to have 6 Full Porcelain Esthetic Crowns. After numbing the patient, the 6 Lower Anterior Incisors; #22,#23,#24,#25,#26, & #27 were reduced all around to have the Crowns cemented on top to completely cover each tooth.
  • An Impression is taken, the Crowns Shade is selected and sent to the Lab for fabrication of the 6 Full Porcelain Esthetic Crowns. Provisionals (temporary crowns) are placed till next visit when the Permanent Full Porcelain Esthetic Crowns are tried in for fit. X-Ray is taken to check fitting of the Crowns on the teeth. If Fit is acceptable, the Crowns are cemented on the teeth permanently. Excess cement is removed & occlusion is adjusted to a comfortable bite. Then the Full Porcelain Esthetic Crowns are finished & Polished.
  • The After Picture is the final product of the 6 Anterior Full Porcelain Esthetic Crowns.

Crowns are often referred to as “caps” because they effectively cover the entire portion of the tooth that can be seen above the gums. They serve multiple purposes, as they help protect the tooth from further damage and the threat of needing to be extracted while also preserving its appearance. When having a crown placed, Dr. Guerguis will first take thorough notes and detailed impressions of the tooth in the question so as to ensure a near-perfect fit. Once we’ve built the restoration, you’ll return to our Cerritos office so that we can place it and ensure that it looks and feels great alongside your other teeth. Crowns are also used to reinforce teeth that have been weakened by root canal therapy, as well as to hold bridges in place more securely.
